Also, the glory mod units give me the unit diversity that stops all my armies from being the same thing. I am enjoying this much more as i feel steel faith tweaks the parts of the game that were lacking rather than changing everything. My current play through i am playing dwarfs using Steel faith + Glory mods.

If the units were separate from the other mods i would have most likely kept it. After playing my radious campaign i felt the strategy was taken away and i was just handed a giant mallet and was told "Hey man, dont worry about those other things, just make all 20 doom stacks and go smash." TW to me is campaign map strategy on one hand and then micro/cinematic shots in the battles on the other. To me those little things made the campaign map require more strategy. I felt radious took away those little "tedious" things and made them far too easy. I didn't like upgrading an entire province and making a 20 doom stack army in like 3 turns.

Every building upgrade was 1 turn, unit cost was reduced too much, unit recruitment time reduced too much, ect. The reason why i uninstalled Radious was pretty much everything else. It brought more diversity throughout the game which made every army i had unique. However, i did like having armies with different types of units rather than just spamming the top units of each race end game (black orcs, bestigors, ect). I know that turns some people off because of "non lore units" or the "makes all factions the same" which i do agree with. Overall i did enjoy the additional units. I tried Radious on my last Chaos play through after playing VC, greenskins, and beastmen on the vanilla. So again, you either are forced to play with what you might not like, or remove mod alltogether.Īll in all, radious was always a trash of TW mods, something you can try only if there is no alternative available. Then there are unreasonable and mostly unnecessary changes to everything, which you may or may not like, and you can't do much about it, besides a limited number of submods. Warhammer is no different, except for more variety and less sense.Ĭhanges: Again, a running theme, decreased prices and upkeep, which breaks any balance and changes how campaigns play out. Here you go, a new and improved roster, new units will always be stronger the vanilla instead of being balanced in.

The idea of "rosters expansion" is to slap a new helmet on a renamed unit, increase it's stats by 20% and decrease a price by 20%. I've tried radious mods since S2 at least, since they are always one of the first, but after a while always are subpar to actual quality mods. Rosters: it has been an issue for a while, really.

Which removes the large part of the modding which is the ability to customize your experience - you either get a full radious questionable experience or nothing. And the attidude here is that other mods must be changed to make them compatible, but not this mod. Which makes the mod incompatible with majority of other mods. In Warhammer there is a significant reason for those gaps, and they need to be there.Ĭompatibility: unnecessary changes to most files.

Radious just takes all the intentional and lore friendly gaps and throws them out the window because "it's fun to never be without because of the faction you choose." In the history titles that can be given a bit more leeway because people (read: humans in our world) are adaptive and would, eventually, figure out a way to fight better and feasibly not have the gaps originally designed in. They can just throw undead bodies at their foes until they win.

If those enemies don't route, Chaos is notorious for losing in any kind of battle that doesn't come down to brute strength.īeastmen are about charges from all direction to break the enemy morale and chase down foes before they can recoup, and misty doing that in horrifying ambushes. The Dwarfs are meant to be so damn hard to kill that they just wear out their enemy while bombarding them with every kind of powder weapon they can.Ĭhaos is just made to smash into a line and deal so much damage and fear to the enemy that they route.

The Bretonnians are all about infantry that is "good enough" and delivering the hammer with their godlike cavalry. The wood elfs are designed to kite around the enemy until they are weak enough to smash with a well placed charge. The Orcs are supposed to be all about the initial charge and then letting the big 'uns get in to finish off the enemy boss. The issue is compounded in Warhammer because the factions are designed to be unbalanced. The problem with Radious, and this applies to them as a whole, is that it fills every gap in the roster so every faction can be a jack of all trades.
